Japan has always had this love affair with the sword. Found this clip on Youtube about a master talking of how the cut of the samurai sword needs to be precise in order to take a life with honor.
If the cut is not precise then it would cause much pain.
I find this stuff fascinating. Think about it. They dedicate a lifetime to a skill they probably would never get to use.
Of course, it is the pursuit of the skill that matters and not the practicality of it.
