5 Ways To Get The Most Out of Your Gear Bag

A good gear bag is an essential piece of equipment for every martial artist. No matter what martial art you participate in, or how seriously and regularly you train, you’re going to need a solid and reliable bag for storing and transporting your gear. Ideally, that bag will help you keep your stuff organized and fresh, too.

Any bag that is able to do all of the above can also come handy in other parts of your life. And there are all sorts of places you can take a good gear bag and all sorts of things you can put in it. If you want to get creative, there are also different things you can put on a bag for different purposes.

Here are 5 ways that you can use a ProForce gear bag outside of martial arts.

Gym Bag

Everything that makes a bag like the ProForce® Velocity Duffel Bag a great choice for the dojo also makes it great for regular gym-going, too. This bag’s mesh top and Ultra Channeling Ventilation will allow your gym clothes, shoes, and accessories to breathe on the way to and from the gym. Its zippered closures will keep your personal effects both safe and easily accessible. And its pouches can keep everything from your gear to your toiletries organized and easy to find.

Just switch your gi or gloves for training shoes and fitness clothing and get some cross-training in at your local gym or community centre.

School Bag

Any gear bag that’s big and strong enough to handle all of your sparring gear and training accessories can also come in handy in other forms of education. The ProForce® UCV® II Mega Backpack, for example, also makes a solid school bag. At 19” x 16” x 8’’, this convertible backpack/duffle bag is big enough  for a laptop, multiple textbooks and notebooks, and whatever else you might need during an average school day. And it has cushioned padded shoulder straps and back pads to keep you as comfortable as possible when you’re lugging it all around campus.

Carry-On Luggage

The exact measurements vary depending on your airline, so be sure to check before you fly. But for many airlines, the current size limit for carry-on luggage is 22”x14”x 9”. The ProForce® Transformer® II Bag/Backpack is 20”x12”x10”. As long as you don’t overstuff it, you’ve got a solid piece of luggage on your hands. It’s durable enough to weather the demands of travel and features a variety of pouches so that you can keep your personal items safe and organized.

This bag can also be converted into a 27” long duffle bag. So if you pick up a few too many souvenirs on your travels, you have the option of expanding your bag and converting it into checked luggage for the trip home.

Swag or Gift Bag

If you’re promoting a business, hosting a conference, running a team, or throwing a big party, there’s a good chance that you’re going to need some giveaway items or commemorative gifts. Why not a customized gear bag? That gives your clients, colleagues, teammates, and friends a practical item that they can carry around. Everywhere they carry it can remind them of the good times you’ve spent together. And it can show off your designs to the outside world.

The Proforce® Deluxe Locker Gear Bag is an excellent choice for this option. In addition to being handy and breathable, its zippered side pockets also happen to be easily customizable. Get your business, team, or personal logo printed on the sides with the help of AWMA’s in house custom services

Sandbag

If you’re in the market for fun and budget-friendly at-home workouts, you also have the option of converting your gearbag into a DIY weight that you can use for basic lifts and sandbag training. Take a duffle bag, add a bag of sand, rice, or other weighted material, make sure everything’s properly sealed and go!

You can also use other types of bags for exercise purposes, but the duffel’s design is particularly well-suited to sandbag training. It’s already sandbag-shaped. The Deluxe Sport Bag, for example, is a solid choice for a makeshift sandbag because it’s the right shape and size, and it’s strong enough to hold the weight while you train. It’s also got enough straps to allow for a variety of grip choices, but not so many that it’s going to distract you while you’re working out.
