There is so much to see in Chinatown. As I walked up and down the streets of LA’s Chinatown I had no idea where to stop first, so I made it a point to stop in every store and eat at one of the delicious restaurants which are situated right in the neighborhood. Too many decisions and not enough time, I had to return for a second visit later in the week!
Upon arriving there were lines of stores to the right and left of me. Some more focused on arts and home decor, while others carried weapons and clothing. I was definitely overwhelmed by the colorful mixture of items. It is definitely worth popping into each one to get a feel for the individual stores.
Even by just walking around outside, you can see how wonderfully all the store fronts are decorated.
It was also fun to admire all the beautiful architecture that Chinatown has to offer.
And I can not forget to mention the signs! A lot of the signs in Chinatown seem very old. It is nice that they preserve the original art of the signs themselves, even if the store has changed.
One sign I could not ignore was for the Phoenix Bakery .
The aroma of pastries, cakes, and fresh fortune cookies smelled delicious!
And the decorations and toys in the bakery were fun to look at.
I hope at some point you can make it to Chinatown in Los Angeles. Maybe you will have some new suggestions for us!
